WHAT IS REFLEXOLOGY?
'The art of balancing your Body
through your Feet' - LR

Reflexology is an extremely relaxing holistic therapy for restoring, maintaining and activating the body’s natural equilibrium and healing potential. This is achieved by applying pressure to specific reflex points (on the foot or hand) that correspond to the various organs, limbs, glands and other systems in the body.

Stimulation of these points relaxes the body, mind and emotions and clears the energy pathways, triggering the release of stress and helping the body to function more effectively. Pressure applied on the reflex points may also help cut through to the root of many health-related issues, unlock nerve impulses and relieve the impact of past injuries and illnesses.

Reflexology also aims to boost blood and lymphatic flow; relieve aches and pain; stimulate creativity and activate body’s natural healing process.
“It is thought that reflexology therapy may also assist in releasing toxins, help with issues related to infertility, pregnancy and lead to easier childbirth.’’

This treatment also supports PMS and other female issues.

WHAT IS HOT STONE REFLEXOLOGY?
This Reflexology treatment is carried out with hot stones, to help release tension at deeper levels, as the stones enable more deep work in the reflex zones of the feet.
The subtle energies of these smooth basalt stones help to soothe the senses, while the heat of the stones help to direct the body’s internal flow (chi), calm the mind and create a meditative state. The heat of the stones are also said to penetrate deeper into the superficial layer of the muscles and assist in opening and activating the energy channels of the reflex points, which in turn bring about greater sense of wellbeing and mind-body balance.

Stones have been used in treatments for centuries and can be traced back to the Shang Dynasty in China (1500BC) and early Egypt. Native Americans, Africans and Australians have also been using stones in ceremonies and healing work since ancient times.

It is also believed that the effects of a hot stone reflexology treatment lasts longer than a "normal" reflexology session.
