Yoga Nidra meditation: Deep Relaxation & Conscious Awareness

Despite its name, Yoga Nidra is not a physical practice but a guided meditation done while lying down. It focuses entirely on relaxing the mind and body and does not involve any yoga postures (asanas).

Yoga Nidra means "sleep with a trace of awareness," as it guides you into a hypnagogic state—the transitional phase between wakefulness and sleep—where the mind becomes highly receptive.

The Power of Yoga Nidra

This deeply relaxing meditation technique helps access the subconscious and unconscious mind. Even if you drift into sleep during the session (which is common), the guided instructions continue working on your subconscious. As the conscious mind withdraws, the subconscious absorbs suggestions, facilitating profound transformation and inner healing.

During the practice, you are gently guided to shift awareness from point to point, encouraging full-body relaxation and mental stillness.
